Secluded and unique glamping holidays in the Pembrokeshire National Park

My first newsletter

Welcome to the first Lucie Parkes newsletter

A very happy new year to you from me at Cwt Gwyrdd Glamping.

You are receiving this email because you have either stayed at Cwt Gwyrdd or because you have at some time contacted me regarding a booking. The aim of my newsletter is to keep in touch with the many people I have had the pleasure of welcoming to Cwt Gwyrdd Glamping over the last 3 years. If you don’t want to receive any more of my occasional newsletters, simply click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of this email.

So here we are in 2019 and looking forward to another glamping year. 2018 saw me make some important improvements to the site. A “barn style” pod replaced the Mongolian Yurt which is now living happily at a yoga retreat in Devon. I redecorated and furnished the pod which is now providing a beautifully comfortable space even in the cooler early spring and late autumn due to its good insulation.

My main season starts at Easter. In 2018 I really enjoyed welcoming so many like-minded visitors to the joys of “glamorous camping”. Family celebrations have been quite a feature with several anniversaries and milestone birthdays. So many people have commented on how memorable this aspect of their stay has been that in 2019 I’m going to expand my celebratory cake and surprise decorations on arrival service.

I’ve also welcomed in 2018 several non-human residents to our property. Three Indian Runner Ducks (Bonnie, Clyde and Sebastian) and 2 Pygmy Goats (Sophie and Cindy). They are such a delight and I’m sure will be appreciated by my guests. My cats as usual aren’t too impressed!

A surprise early frost at the end of September led to a bathroom hot water boiler problem and I had to close briefly but no-one was let down. The Shepherds Hut is cosy even in winter and I already have a newly-engaged couple spending a quiet new year here away from it all.

On a personal note, my daughter Alice, a professional animator, finally got her website launched when she came to stay in the autumn. Some of the videos are great fun. It’s at www.alicejparkes.com

My own website www.shepherdshut.wales is always being updated too, so I hope you will take a look when you are planning for 2019. Wherever you choose for your holidays, I hope you have a fun-filled time and that you choose glamping again.

All best wishes,

Lucie Parkes
